"The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

Great First Day!

I'm very proud of my JKs!
We had some tears at the morning drop off, but as soon as we started our day in the classroom, students were all fine. Thank you parents for making it easier by dropping off and leaving quickly! :)
We began the day with story time and songs. Next, we had snacks and washroom break. Then we made a name craft using straw.

After that had lunch and outdoor recess.
In the afternoon we had our UOI time where we talked about good manners. I showed them pictures of friendly monsters having a good attitude and a bad attitude. Students helped sort them out by putting the pictures in the happy face and sad face.
Next, students colored the first letter of their names.

To finish off the day we had centers, story time and French class.
Our schedule will be a little bit different this week as we take longer to get ready, change shoes, line up, but I'm confident students will get into the routine quickly! :)

Have a great evening everyone!
