Terry Fox Run

I'm very proud of my JKs today!
Lots of running for Terry Fox!
We began our morning with calendar, circle time and snacks.
Next, we colored running shoes for Terry Fox and watched a short video about him.
Then we wrote all lower case alphabet letters, as part of our writing assessment. Again, these assessments are just for me to use as a guide to see what your child already knows.

Next, we had Gym class, lunch and recess.
In the afternoon we all met in the gym to talk about Terry Fox and give students the instructions for the run.

Happy Monday!

Today we began the day with morning circle time and snacks.
In language arts we met a new friend Ellie Elephant. Students sang our phonics song for letter e and throughout the week they will learn name, sound and formation of upper and lower case e.
Today we completed 2 language activities. First, students used play dough to form the letter e and second students went on a letter e hunt, using bingo dauber.
After lunch and recess, we had a fun math graph to complete. Students drew pictures using their favourite colour and then we came together as a class to talk about the results.

In our UOI we watched 4 short videos of children playing in other parts of the world. We were impressed how different children play in countries like China, Brazil, Africa and India.

Then we talked how children play in Canada. Students shared what is their favourite thing to play with when they are at home.
