Happy and cold Monday!

Today we had a fun day!
We began our Monday with morning circle time and snacks.
In language we completed a couple of activities related to Christmas. Students had to look at the picture and write the ending sound. They also practiced tracing and cutting a mini booklet about Christmas.
In math students had to completed a pattern.
In the afternoon we practise for the Christmas concert and had centers.

Happy Friday!

Today we began the day with Art class, snacks and morning circle time.
In language we worked on beginning sounds and then had our 3D shape Show and Tell presentations.
In the afternoon we practised our song for the Christmas Concert and had our math activity about the 2D shapes.

Happy and Sunny Wednesday!

Today we began the day with reading buddies, snacks right after and morning circle time.
In language we worked on beginning sounds. Students had to look at the picture and complete the beginning letter.
In math we looked at each 2D shape and counted how many sides on each shape. Then students had to draw a picture of each shape.
Next, we reviewed our science fair experiment and practiced our Christmas song.
Today students attended Gym and French classes.

Happy Tuesday!

I'm glad somehow we got the mud situation in control! Students are now having recess in the sports court. They still got lots of space to run and play. :)
Today our day was a little different. We began the day with art class, snacks and circle time.
In language we went on a letter hunt identifying all upper case and lower case Hs.
Then students completed their journal by finishing the sentence "H is for...". We wrote a list of words with pictures on the board and students got to pick a words of their choice and then draw the picture.
In the afternoon we had a special guest: The Dairy Farmers of Ontario. The facilitator explained to the students how we get the milk from cows and she also talked about healthy eating choices that come from milk. Ms. Bannon's class joined us!
To finish off the day we practiced for our Christmas Concert, attended gym and French classes and practiced for our Science Fair presentation.

Muddy Monday!

Dear Parents,
My apologies for all the mud in your child's uniform today. I strongly suggest you send your child in boots everyday. Now I'm starting to anxiously wait for a good amount of snow...that way they will use snow pants and our little friends will not have as much mud on their uniforms. :)
Today we began the day with our morning circle time and snacks.
In language we met a new friend, Homer Horse and we learned the name, sound and formation of H.
Students completed their H worksheet and also practiced finding the beginning sound of each picture.
In Math we completed a page where students coloured the rectangle shape and also counted how many sides has a rectangle.
In our UOI we reviewed our Science experiment about the amount of seeds in each pumpkin. We practiced explaining the information to the our classmates.
Today students attended Gym and French classes.

Happy Friday!

It is getting cold!
We had a fun day!
In the morning we practiced our song for the Christmas Concert along with Ms. Bannon's class.
Next, we had snacks and morning circle time.
In language we worked on identifying the vowel sound on short words and also reading groups.
In math we had "hands on" centers, where students used geoboards to form 2d shapes, tangram blocks and group counting.
Then we had the Show and Tell presentations.
Today JKs attended Gym and French classes.

Happy Thursday!

Today we had a fantastic day!
We began the day with Art class, snacks and circle time.
In language we practiced recognising and identifying the beginning sound by coloring the correct letter.
In math we completed an activity where students had to count the shapes and make a graph to find out which shape had the least and which shape had the most.
Today we had some time to have centers.
Students have also been working on our science fair board by tracing each explanation of our experiment. Science Fair will take place on Nov. 26th from 2:30-3:15pm.
Our class will stay by our table from 2:30-2:45pm but parents are welcome to come and see all the projects from 2:30-3:15.

Today we had a great day!
In the morning we had reading buddies with the gr. 3s, snacks and circle time.
In language we spent some time completing a page that will go with the report card next week.
In the afternoon we completed a 3d shape activity where students had pictures to sort into sphere, cube, cone and cylinder. Take a look:

In our UOI we read the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and then we had a discussion as a class.

Great Tuesday!

We had a fantastic day today!
In the morning we had art class, snack time and morning circle.
In language we reviewed name, sound and formation of the letter M. Students went on a letter hunt trying to stamp all upper and lower case M with the bingo dauber.
Next, students completed a journal page where they wrote a word that begin with M and then drew a picture.
In the afternoon we reviewed the 2d shapes and used geoboards to build shapes (great for fine motor skills!). Next we did a finger paint listening to classic music. Students were encouraged to paint about something they liked.
Today students attended gym and French classes.
